Here you can read about any recent changes to the website, as well as anything else I feel the urge to announce...

Prototype map engine goes live! (08 March 2007)

The next generation of Anywherever map engine has been completed, and can be viewed here.

The load time is a little slow at the moment, but that is mainly due to having to setup the map using an XML file. Once I have the new site running on Tomcat, I can use Java Object streaming and it should go like lightning!

Anywherever continues to grow (09 July 2006)

Despite no help whatsoever from the various people I've been emailing (they must just dismiss me as spamming), Anywherever is gaining, on average, a new user every day. People who find the site appear to be using it, and the number of blogs is rapidly expanding. Fantastic!

I'm off to Malaysia now, so the website will be operating fairly autonomously for the next six months. Let's hope it holds together while I'm away...

I'll still be able to perform technical support duties, but there may be a small delay in any responses. I hope everyone continues to enjoy using the site!

Anywherever goes live (28 June 2006)

The beta testing is now complete, and Anywherever has now gone live at www.anywherever.net. With any luck, the website is now finally complete!

It couldn't have happened without the invaluable efforts of Robert Chipperfield, who provided technical support and coffee at all stages of the project, as well as a fast server on which to host the site. I now owe him many beers!

Final thanks go to my beta testers, who managed to break Anywherever in a number of unforseen and imaginative ways. They can be collectively found at www.pod.me.uk.

I hope you all enjoy it.

Anywherever beta is online! (23 June 2006)

After months of hard work, the beta version of Anywherever has now gone online, albiet in a somewhat limited form running on my laptop. If all goes well, and my dedicated team of testers doesn't find too much to complain about, the website will be fully up and running in a few days time!

Thankyou to everyone who poked me until I actually finished a project for once...
